Pizza Pro Primer

New Orleans has beignets, Memphis has ribs…New York has pizza. And while there are thousands of places to get a slice in the Big Apple, we think one of the most memorable (and delicious) pizza experiences in Manhattan is Pizza a Casa, a pizzeria and pizza school a mere ten minutes from our Flatiron boutique hotel. For pizza lovers, it’s an unbelievable four hours of hands-on pizza making that begins, as all great pizzas do, with the dough (and not just any dough – you’ll learn to make the kind you can toss in the air and stretch into a perfect pie.) Next up? Step-by-step instructions for topping and baking a world-class pizza that is crispy, chewy, delicately charred and, best of all, can be reproduced in any home kitchen. Students bake up to four gourmet pies in a class, eating their authentic, hand-tossed works along the way. Whatever’s left goes home in to-go boxes, ready to be shared with family and friends. Or the staff of your favorite hotel, of course.
