Of course, guests staying at our boutique hotel The MAve in Midtown’s Flatiron District will be perfectly situated to explore the best the city has to offer, and the hotel’s luxury amenities are sure to impress any, ahem, shall we say house guests…

Just a few blocks from the hotel is the very unique SPiN New York, a venue that mixes chic nightlife with ping pong. The lights are dim and the patrons are well dressed, but the action, instead of being centered around a dance floor or bar, happens at one of the 17 ping pong tables. The ping pong tables are rented by the hour and each one has a couch and table for drinks and appetizers.

Brooklyn Bowl is another great venue for the boys. As its name suggests, this bowling alley is located in Brooklyn—Williamsburg to be exact—and while it’s a little far from the hotel, it’s more than worth the trek. After paying a small cover, patrons are greeted by a full bar, chic cocktail lounge vibe and hipster indie bands playing to full crowds, oh, and let’s not forget the 16 bowling lanes. Is it hard to focus on your bowling game with so many distractions? Sure. But bowling has never felt cooler!

After a wholesome early evening with the guys, let’s get a little more sinister for our late night NYC escapades. The trendy Meatpacking District is the place to go for pounding beats and giant nightclubs. Though face control can be a little strict, models pack the dance floors and there is a ton of fun to be had in the area.

Check out Darby Downstairs for a healthy dose of electro hip hop and funk. Or if you have money that’s begging to be spent, visit Le Bain on the roof of the newly opened Standard Hotel, which is a hot spot for celebrities and models.

While there are a lot of options for a happening night out—SoHo, Williamsburg and the Village all come to mind—the Meatpacking District stands out as the coolest. This always-hot neighborhood is situated in between Chelsea and the Village on the Hudson River and is close to our NYC boutique hotel The MAve, which is in the Flatiron District.

Start off your Meatpacking adventure at Le Bain, which is situated on the rooftop of the newly opened Standard Hotel. This bar is known for its stunning views of the Manhattan skyline and for its fashionable clientele of celebrities and models. Getting past its doormen can be a challenge late at night, but if you come during the day or early evening you should be able to find a lounge chair on the bar’s faux grass terrace for a cocktail or two. As it is with most places in the Meatpacking District, it’s best to dress nicely when visiting Le Bain.

Next up on the agenda is Provocateur. This nightclub is a new entrant onto the Meatpacking scene and it’s somewhat unique in that it was designed to cater to female patrons. This can be seen in everything from its vitamin-infused cocktails to Madonna-inspired décor. Guys are more than welcome, of course, as no ladies’ night is complete without some handsome man candy.

Still up for another club? Move the party over to Darby Downstairs. Situated underneath the Darby Supper Club, this club is all about electro hip hop and funk and is a great place for dancing. Hopefully you’re already a little toasty, though, as drinks at this club can be a little pricey.

After a long night bumping and grinding in the Meatpacking District it’s time to return to The MAve boutique hotel for a well deserved rest—with the “do not disturb” light on of course.

The Empire State Building, Chrysler Building and still-in-progress One World Trade Center are the architectural highlights, while the many bridges connecting Manhattan to Brooklyn provide another element to the city’s landscape.

One way to fully enjoy the city’s skyline is to have a drink—or two—at one of New York’s many posh rooftop lounge bars. It’s a great way to impress a friend or a romantic partner and a good chance for a photo opportunity as well. So skip the boring observation decks on your trip to NYC and instead hit up some of these hot rooftop bars!

Le Bain, above the Standard Hotel in the Meatpacking District, is a happening spot that’s packed nightly with fashionable patrons and models. The rooftop has faux grass and plenty of lounge chairs from which to enjoy the excellent views. Come during the day and there will be no problem getting in, otherwise come dressed to impress.

In Midtown Manhattan, not far from our boutique hotel The MAve, is the Sky Room. This bar is spread out over a series of terraces covered by retractable roofs on the 33rd floor and has awesome views of the Empire State Building and Times Square.

Another option in Midtown is Upstairs at The Kimberly. This ultra-chic lounge is on the 30th floor and has several bars on terraces on multiple sides of the building. The retractable roofs make it a good choice rain or shine and the views of the Chrysler Building should not be missed.

Uptown, in Columbus Circle and near Central Park, is Above Six. This cozy rooftop bar has comfy couches and stunning views of the Upper West Side. Expect to pay around $10 for a cocktail.
