Artigo Tours is an art-loving tourist’s one-stop shop, as the company provides a host of tailor-made tours that take travelers on an exploration of the city’s famed and fantastic art scene.

Guests of our boutique hotel The MAve will be well suited to take advantage of this Broadway special as the NYC Theater District is only a few minutes away in Midtown Manhattan.

Popular shows on sale at the moment include Annie, Chicago, Jersey Boys, Mamma Mia!, and Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark. Jersey Boys and Mamma Mia! are perennial favorites with out-of-town visitors looking for traditional Broadway fare, while Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark is a little different from usual, as it’s a musical based on a comic book, and will likely appeal to contemporary theatergoers or families with teenagers.

Of course New York’s vibrant theater scene isn’t limited to only Broadway, as there is also an extensive array of Off-Broadway offerings elsewhere in the city. It’s fortuitous then that the city’s Off-Broadway Week begins on January 28th and runs until February 10th!

The Off-Broadway offerings are almost too many to go into much detail here, but suffice it to say that the shows often take more creative risks than their on-Broadway counterparts, as they don’t have as much pressure to be commercial successes. Often more affordable than Broadway shows, the Off-Broadway performances can vary a great deal in genre and visitors should be able to find a show that suits their tastes.

One popular Off-Broadway show is Perfect Crime, which is a suspenseful thriller—think CSI—that has been running continuously since 1987.

The MarkJoseph Steakhouse at the South Street Seaport serves up some of the city’s best steaks in the shadow of the Brooklyn Bridge.

Hospoda, on the Upper East Side, is a Czech restaurant that has been taking the city by storm. Eastern European cuisine has never been tastier as the restaurant combines Czech cuisine with fresh produce for a modern take on dishes like lentil soup and pork shank.

Esca in Midtown was founded by Chef Dave Pasternack who brought his family’s fishing past and Italian heritage to bear in this seafood restaurant. Raw fish make an appealing appetizer, while whole fish are the customary mains.

Brasserie Ruhlmann is a restaurant in the famed Rockefeller Center that offers French cuisine with an American twist. The NYC Restaurant Week special is a particularly good deal here, as a sandwich usually costs upwards of $20!

Finally, just across from The MAve boutique hotel in NYC’s Flatiron District is A Voce. This Italian restaurant is very highly regarded by the city’s food critics and its Restaurant Week special won’t disappoint.
